After over 20 years of a hard fought battle with Lupus Nephritis, my kidneys had all they could take and have lost the battle. I’ve been on dialysis for a little over a month now to help me stay above water as I go through the process of getting all the stars to align for me to be able to get a living donor transplant. To say that the last couple of months have been tough on me and closes loved ones, is an extreme understatement. Through it all though, we have not lost hope and faith that I will once again come out strong on the other side of this fight. Insert my angel, my niece Eva, who from day one of my diagnosis swore she was going to be the one to come to my rescue. As soon as the opportunity presented itself she, without hesitation, went to get all the initial testing done. after extensive lab work, examinations and numerous doctor appointments by both of us over at the San Antonio Methodist Transplant Hospital we have both been cleared and have a surgery date coming up on January 12!

My dear friends and family, I humbly ask for your help with the unavoidable financial burdens that come hand-in-hand with this immense blessing I am about to receive. My medical insurance is only going to cover 80% of all my medical costs including hospital stays and surgery. My prescription cost are already be on my means even with my prescription insurance and coupons and I need some of these medicines in order to be stable and ready for surgery and I have not been able to purchase them. Also, while of course she’s not asking for it, I would like to use some of this money to help my Eva Bella financially while she is unable to work after surgery. It is the absolute least I can do to even begin to show my appreciation of her generous gift that gives me an opportunity for a healthier, happier quality of life. That is so priceless!
