Hauzy Twins Study Abroad
Dear Friends, Family and Friends of Family!
We have just been accepted into a year-long study abroad program at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada.
Concordia has strong anthropology and business programs (we are both minoring in Anthropology and majoring in International Business), so we will be taking classes that will easily transfer back to San Francisco State University and all be credited to our undergraduate degree.
We are incredibly excited to have been accepted and are so looking forward to spending a year living and studying in a French-speaking country that we have learned about through friends, films and books, but have never actually visited. We are preparing ourselves for the sub-zero winters (colder than France!), the French Québecois accent, and a year of learning, discovering and fun!
The challenging news is that this year abroad will cost three times our current costs. Our parents have agreed to pay for half of our year in Montréal; we are both working 3 days a week starting April 1st while we continue to go to school and plan to hold two jobs this summer to earn as much as we can before we leave in mid-August. To cover the final stretch we are reaching out to all of you to ask for your help and support. Our aim is to raise a total of $18,000.
We realize this is an important sum, but any amount you can offer, no matter what it is, will help us reach our goal and will be appreciated more than words can say. Some of you know us quite well and we see you often, while others of you we have met only once or twice. But because of your past or present friendship with our mother, or our father, or both, we feel as though this friendship reaches out to us too.
We feel incredibly fortunate for the friends that we have made since moving to the U.S five years ago, and we feel so lucky to continue to see our friends and family in France. We hope you will all be able to help us continue on our journey, this time to the far north, and we thank you again for any support you can give.
