Dana's Recovery
Donation protected
Dear New Covenant Families,
I am reaching out to you today because we are family, you have always been so supportive of us and one of us needs help in a very big way. Our Director and colleague, Dana Engstrom, contracted Covid in October and is struggling to get better.
I have the privilege of working with Dana in the office. I have watched her hold your children as they cried, I have seen her hug them when they needed comfort, I have seen her cradle them when they were sick and reassure them everything is going to be OK. I have looked back from my desk and have seen her kneeling and praying for our staff, families and children daily. I have seen her cry from exhaustion and then get right back up again, put a brave face forward to continue to make every day a great experience for the wonderful kids at our school. She works late into the night and is usually the first person at school in the morning. I truly don’t know how she does it. She is a single mother of 4 children AND is currently in school to get her Master’s Degree. I can honestly say that she is truly the most loving, kindest, giving, dedicated, motivated and God-fearing woman I have ever met in my entire life. I know that many of you, Parents, know Dana well. I know she has counselled many of you in your times of need and times of heartache. She has prayed with you and for you.
Currently, Dana is experiencing constant body aches, severe fatigue, coughing fits to the point of her oxygen levels dropping and continuous shortness of breath among other long lasting symptoms. Dana has what is now known as “Long Haulers Covid.” We have found a COVID recovery clinic/program through the Mayo Clinic that she was accepted into. Unfortunately, it is $5,000 up front to even be seen. Worse yet is that her insurance does not cover any of it.
Dana’s kids desperately need their mom back to full strength. We miss her and need her back at school. She desperately wants to get better to be where she loves, with all of your children. Seeing them smile, laughing and playing is her everything.
Now is the time that I pray we can all support Dana, pray for her and help her heal. We are asking for your prayers and for your assistance if you are able, in raising the necessary funds so that Dana can get the treatment she desperately needs. All funds donated would go 100% to Dana's initial treatment and future treatment needs.
Any amount towards the Mayo treatment would be appreciated. Even a few dollars is meaningful.
Thank you in advance for your prayers for Dana and for any financial help you are able to give,
With love and thanks,
Renee and every single one of the NCLS staff – I speak for us all!
