Mutual Morris's Medical Fund

Hi, this is Theresa with Mutual Morris, a mutual aid group that has been helping people in Morris County, New Jersey, since early 2020. There are many gaps in resources here and many of our neighbors don't qualify for the vital help they need. So we rely on each other, our community, to help during times of need.

Almost everyone has experienced the stress and worry of having health needs that they can't afford to take care of. Charities and government programs only go so far. Insurance is often unaffordable and insufficient. We work with people who have tried every non-profit and every program in existence and have been left with no options for the care they need. Nobody should have to leave their illnesses and injuries untreated because of a lack of funds. And so we are starting this campaign to help directly those who can't get help anywhere else. The first person we are raising funds for is both a beloved community member and a trusted volunteer of Mutual Morris who has been with us for over two years. "A" has been an integral part of our outreach and communications and has helped hundreds of families. She's been there for so many, and now we want to be there for her. A chronic health condition worsened recently and became an emergency that put her in the hospital for a week. She is recovering now but she is burdened by lingering bills that total about $1750. As a DACA recipient, she doesn't qualify for any government program that would help pay these bills, and she has already exhausted every other non-profit and charitable option.

All funds up to this amount will go to paying "A"'s current bills. We will add the next community members with medical needs one at a time after this to receive additional funds and will keep you updated.
