Dear wonderful community of the Rogue Valley and beyond, we are organizing to help an amazing family to keep the lights on and stay housed.

Through the past couple of years, Sabena and Steve have been bombarded with catastrophic medical events of multiple family members. Much of the necessary treatment and aftercare has included traveling and out-of-pocket expenses. This has led to many hard decisions as to how to allocate monthly earnings... bills or imperative treatment for their children. The family has attempted to access hardship help through many organizations but falls above the income cut-off for emergency funds. Sabena has worked tirelessly with the City of Ashland to try and set up a reasonable payment schedule. Through many appeals, the City is unwilling to work with this family, which will leave Sabena, Steve and the kids without power and water on Monday. We are hoping to help get them back to a place of stability.

These funds will be used to pay past due bills which threaten to leave them without power, unhoused, and unable to cultivate the safety and security they have always nurtured.
