Mutual Aid: Cypress Needs a Second Miracle

Donation protected
Update, 5/10/24: After months of sickness and many medical appointments and trips to the ER, I’m back with a severe in infection and difficulties with POTS, both of which are a result from my ongoing battle. I’m not asking for much but I’ll miss three days of work due to recovery, which means losing hundreds of much need dollars in to of everything else. Any help meeting my extended goal will be life changing and mean so much to me.

February 29th is Rare Disease Day. Unfortunately, I’m ringing it in with a new rare disease, gastroparesis, that’s caused me to have unbearable pain, multiple lost days of work, and all manner of mental health difficulties, as well as multiple ER visits this month. I’ve endured test after test and while I’m grateful for my insurance and ability to do so, the financial burden is very real. Worse, it’s made a time of joy—Black History Month—a a very bittersweet experience as much of the work I may have done this month has had to be pushed aside to prioritize my health.

So once again, I need mutual aid to help me with the overwhelming mountain of unexpected medical bills that have fallen into my lap.

Any funds raised will go toward helping me clear my medical debt, which includes paying off bills, reducing the debt credit cards used to support urgent care and emergency care visits, as well as helping me with the next round of specialist I need to visit to help me recover and find healthy ways to adjust to my new new normal. These funds will also help me cover the cost of new medicines as well, many of which are going to be necessary to me continuing to adjust to being a Type-2 Diabetic.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I fiercely believe in the power of community. I believe in the kindness of others and in the power of support. So if you have the ability to help, please consider supporting me. But as I’ve also always said, if you don't have the money or can't afford to help, that's okay. You have right to take care of yourself first: please don't forget that.

Thank you for your kindness, whether that’s through a direct donation or via sharing and uplifting this post via social media. Your support is genuinely appreciated. May nothing but kindness come your way.

Here’s to me one day thriving, not just surviving!
