*Rescue Fund for Slaughter Bound Mustangs*
We have raised funds to save FOUR mustangs from the Bastrop Louisiana Kill Pen where they had been abandoned and destined for slaughter. This Kill Pen has THREE ADDITIONAL mustangs in the lot that are slotted to ship to slaughter on Monday, March 8th. I have put their deposits down but I need to raise the additional funds to get them out and transported to their forever homes in Florida!
The underbelly of the horse world is a dark, scary place, and these babies face a packed, brutal ride to an inhumane end. Mustangs are rounded up, robbed of their freedom, separated from their families, and then distributed to “homes” that are paid to take them in. Many are then dropped at kill pens to ultimately face a violent death. Mustangs are beautifully wild, highly intelligent pack animals and deemed an American Icon; they deserve better than this.
The more horses we can get out of this lot, the bigger dent we can put into their “shipment” load, not enough horses left in lot = not a big enough load = NO SHIPPING to slaughter.
My heart aches for this cause and Anna, Manning, Pete, and Sid and now Amigo, Prada and Marty who we have the opportunity to save immediately. I truly appreciate anything you’re willing to give to help these beautiful, gentle souls receive a soft landing and second chance. No amount is too small. Thank you for supporting this mission!
