These 12 ladies have worked their butts off all season. They battled tough teams and terrible weather. They carried on their (grueling) but time honored tradition of fighting from the losers bracket and coming back to make it to the Championship game. Not only did they beat the undefeated team coming from the winners bracket, they beat them twice! With those wins came the District 4 Championship banner!

What's next? Our Lady Mustangs are heading to the State Tournament to battle the best teams from around the state. This year's Tournament is in Ellsworth. First game is on Tuesday, July 8th. They're given only 5 days to prepare for the stiffest competition in the State! It's a double elimination tournament so they plan to be there for most of the week.

Little League tournaments are difficult to plan for. You can't count your chickens before they hatch, and the details around when and where the State Tournament will be held can be hard to find. Having less than a week to prepare for what will likely be a week grind is tough on a team, but tougher on the parents.

Ellsworth is not a cheap area to be in this time of year. Hotel costs were outside the budget range for the families. One of the team's moms has already secured a discounted rate for rooms in Bangor. Nevertheless... with rooms, food, and gas... each family is facing costs of well over a thousand dollars per family.

Many of these girls and families were in a similar spot 2 years ago when they won the District banner at the Minors level. We looked to our community for help, and WOW… did they help! We were moved by the level of support shown at that time! And here we are again! We're asking area businesses for help but we need your help too. I know we'll never raise enough money to cover everyone's costs, but I'm hoping to raise a little just to ease some of the burden. Money will be distributed evenly between the 13 families involved (gotta show love for the coaches too). If by some chance we are able to raise more than we need, all remaining money will go to Massabesic Little League and towards our 450+ ball players next season.

The entire Majors squad, including the parents, have been thrilled to see the level of Mustang Pride showing up to these District games! There's been a small sea of green down one side of the field each night! We truly appreciate that support! We realize that many of our fans, friends, and family will be unable to make the trip to Ellsworth to cheer these girls on… we hope you show your support with a few bucks to help this group of ladies out as they face the best competition in the state and get the experience of a lifetime. Every little bit will be a big help and truly appreciated.
