Mustaches in May - Supporting ACCOI

ATTENTION FAMILY, FRIENDS, & COWORKERS:
For those that know me, and to those that do not, I’m sure many of you have noticed that I am sporting some new facial hair...again. You guessed it, Mustache's in May is back! This is all in an effort to raise awareness for something that is very close to me.
As some of you may know, my father, Mark Marsico, lost his battle to a very rare cancer, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) May 21, 2014 after being diagnosed in 2007. He was a very active member in the ACCOI (Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Organization International) community, and forever changed the lives of many others across the world suffering through the same disease as him.
Around 1,224 people are diagnosed with ACC in the U.S. each year and currently there are 14,873 Americans living with ACC (ACCOI Website). He allowed his specific case along with his knowledge in the industry, as he was the Oncology Manager for the Eastern United States at G.E. Healthcare, to be used for advancing others knowledge about this disease they were too battling. Throughout his journey, his case was used to help try and find treatments for others in the future. This is the second annual “Mustaches in May” and we are excited to try and break last year’s goal!
For the Month of May, I hold a mustache drive fundraiser called “Mustache’s in May”. You may be wondering, “Why a Mustache??” Well, Mark Marsico rocked a GREAT one for many years; he even rocked one in his wedding pictures. To everyone, whether I know you or I don’t, your support would mean the absolute world.
The official gofundme page in support of ACCOI is now live! I encourage everyone who wants to support to post their stache’s on social media sites, using the hashtag #mustachesinmay. Also, you can visit (this page) gofundme.com/mustachesinmay to educate yourself more about the fundraiser and what the money is going towards. Challenge others to show their mustaches, YOU’RE NOT ALONE! This isn’t just for men, women too! Get a sticky mustache, photo booth prop, anything – let’s get creative!
We will gladly appreciate any and everyone’s support. We truly believe that the money and awareness we raise CAN and WILL make a difference. All of the money raised will go to ACCOI & ACCRF. The money that GoFundMe takes out will be donated back to the organizations via a cash donation from my family and I.
