Muslim Alliances in Texas Event (MATE)

On Saturday, April 20th 2019, 60 single men and 60 single women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s are meeting in Austin, Texas for a Muslim matchmaking event, organized by MATE (Muslim Alliances in Texas Event). This is our 4th MATE event in Austin and we try to do these matrimonial matchmaking events every couple of years, if we can. This is a service provided by a handful of volunteers in the Austin area, working in close conjunction with local-area mosques and imams. This year, we have registered attendees from 15 different cities and 5 states and all are there with the purpose of looking for their significant other.
We have all three meals covered (breakfast, lunch and dinner plus some snacks and refreshments for all the attendees), several hours of volunteering work at the Capital Area Food Bank and Animal Shelter, a riverboat cruise, a sightseeing tour of Austin and a dinner downtown plus a viewing the bats from the Congress bridge. I have covered most of the costs for now via registration fees and donations but we have a few attendees who cannot afford the registration cost, unfortunately, or who have asked us for a discount on the registration fee so I'm reaching out to you today to see if you can help me offset that cost. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated and welcome! If there is anything extra collected through this GFM page, it will go towards next year's MATE event to be held at the Islamic Center of Brushy Creek (ICBC) next Spring, iA. It is an obligation on us to offer important and much-needed services like this as our community continues to grow and diversify.
