This is my cat, Musik. He's 15 years old. He was 10 years old when I got him from Animal Care & Control, and no one wanted him because he was so old.
Lately, he stopped eating much and seems very uncomfortable, particularly when he swallows. The veterinarian says that his blood work and urinanalysis is "just about perfect" for a cat his age, but he has at least one tooth in very bad condition, and it's causing him a lot of pain. Also, there may be an obstruction or abcess that is causing his difficulty swallowing.
The veterinarian estimates the cost of anesthesia, dental work, X-rays, etc. to be $800 to $1200 dollars. Transportation to the vet is about $30 each visit.
He is my only companion, and I hate to see him in pain. His health is generally good, but if he can't eat or drink, that won't last. I am retired and support myself with Social Security and a tiny pension. There is no other way than this for me to be able to afford what he needs right now.
I need to raise this money as quickly as possible so that I can make arrangements with the veterinarian. This is a last resort for me, and I will be eternally grateful for any help you can give me.
