Whether we play or not, Music is an important part of many of our lives.

I am a musician.  In 2017 I left my position as Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music. My husband and I now live in beautiful New Mexico. When we moved here three years ago I started a side hustle, a music motivation company. We produce live music events and have employed local musicians.

Since I was young I have loved performing on stage. I love everything about it, but my favorite thing about it is playing with other musicians and developing a sense of team. My goals for the rest of my days are simple: I want to continue to encourage and mentor young musicians and continue to create opportunities. This time of year, I would have been preparing for the 3rd Annual Jazz Christmas concert in Rio Rancho, NM, but it has obviously been canceled. 

Many of you have supported me and bands I have played in over the years. I am very grateful! I have been able to make a living in music. Since coronavirus hit, my friends and I have lost thousands of dollars worth of work. Some of us also teach, which is helpful but for the musicians who don’t have students, this has been a difficult time. 

My father was an entrepreneur. He inspired me in many ways. He always said to be myself and go for it. I have made mistakes along the way, but I will never stop trying.
