My name is Abigail Bernat, and I am a music teacher at Cole High School.

I am raising money to try to provide my new music students with an experience that all young musicians should have- participation in a music festival.

Cole High School is a low income school, with approximately 90% of students qualifying for FRE status. As a result, these students are often not afforded the same opportunities as others in the area, which exacerbates inequitable experiences and expectations in the classroom.

By raising this money, I will not only be able to take my students to a festival where they will perform and receive valuable clinician feedback, but we will be able to repair instruments that are in disarray, as well as hire musicians from the community to come in and work 1 - 1 with students as they work to prepare their music.

The money raised will go to the following:

Festival Registration Fees

Instrument Repairs

Hotel for students

Meals for Students

Transportation for Students

Uniforms for Students

Sectional Teachers

With your support, you will help keep the arts alive in a community that may otherwise never get the opportunity to engage. Help my students have a musical and educational experience that they deserve.
