I have volunteered more than 5,600 hours serving in many roles to help at-risk youth and foster kids get guitars, books, and music education. 

Raising money to buy copies of the 88+Ways Music Can Change Your Life: An inspiring collection of stories written by famous musicians as well as unknown musicians. 

Many youths in DC have to choose between music classes and other activities. Music is proven through the latest neural research technology to be the most brain nurturing activity known to humans. This book will help kids realize the importance of learning music. 

We will buy bulk to bring the cost down and make the funds stretch. We will get the books for nearly half the retail price. 

Volunteers will help deliver the books through the Washington DC area. 

We are going to place our order on February 14th, 2017. We hope to make our month of loving donations last a lifetime. 

As a leader of volunteers, and teacher of music to foster youth and at-risk kids I have seen the power a small thoughtful gift to a child who feels low self-esteem from a difficult home life, bullying, and the diminishing opportunities. Inspired youth do better in life. 

We know the power of reading inspiring stories. This powerful, yet simple gesture to encourage a child to read and also inspire them to recognize the power of the music they can harness will lift them up. 

I am ever grateful to the music and guitar that saved me from a life of self-doubt, and dangerous decisions. Reading and learning to play music help empower me. I witnessed it's power to do the same for foster kids and at-risk youth. Please consider making a donation. Every $10 guarantees a book to a child.
