Musical Studies in Vienna for Alicia, Raphaël & Liam

From September 2024, three of our eight children will have the enormous privilege to receive the best possible music education, in the world's capital for classical music : Vienna.

Liam will pursue his Bachelor studies and has been chosen as the only pianist to perform in the concert series "Start Up" with a recital in the MUSIKVEREIN (Metallenen Saal, in March 2025). He was also selected by the MdwTalentLab to perform as a soloist with the Mdw Orchestra, in November 2024.
He has just performed two recitals : one in the Bösendorfer Salon (Musikverein) and the other in the Steinway&Sons Young Pianists Lab. He was the winner of the instrumental category of the French tv competition "Prodiges" in 2020 and has been awarded first prize in the Vienna Caneres Competition, in 2023.

Raphaël moved to Vienna 2 1/2 years ago, at the age of 14, in order to attend the Young Talents class "Vorbereitungskurs" in the MUK (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität Wien), with Professor Lidia Baich. Now 16, he was recently accepted in the Bachelor Program in the same university. As a finalist of the Goldene Note, he performed live on ORF2, and in October will be a guest on the show "Stars & Talente"in Austria. He just performed in the Salzkammergut Festwochen in Gmunden and next season, is invited in the Tyrol, Vienna, Salzbug and Mallorca to perform as a soloist.

Alicia won in the Instrumental Category of the French TV music competition "Prodiges" when she was 10.
She received the advice from Gautier Capuçon and Emmanuel Pahud that it would be important for her to be in a place where she is nurtured artistically and has many opportunities to develop to her full potential. So she applied for the "Hochbegabtenkurs der MdW" in Vienna and... has just been admitted, unanimously. Now 11, she will start classes in September, flying twice a month to Vienna. The MdwTalent Lab is looking for a guest family with whom she can stay, when away from home.

➡️We are opening this fundraising for our 3 "Vienna kids". Liam and Raphaël are very lucky and already benefit from private sponsoring which covers 85% of their rent. Alicia also has a generous donator who is taking in charge one flight to Vienna per month. She will fly twice minimum, and until November when she is old enough and allowed to fly alone, we will have to accompany her. This represents an unaffordable cost for our family.
The MdW also is granting a scholarship to reduce tuition fees.
➡️So for school year 2024/25, we will have the following costs :
Tuition costs : 2800€ total for our 3 children.
The remaining flights to Vienna represent a budget of about 4000€ for the whole year.
The cost for instruments (flute rental and piano rental) : 1800€.
*Raphaël has been awarded a violin for 2 years, from the French Foundation "Fonds instrumental du Clos Vougeot".
Nevertheless, we are concerned because it is very important for young talents to take part in international competitions.
Liam and Raphaël are at a point where they should be applying to a few every year but until now it has been impossible, for cost related reasons (enrollment fees + professional recording for the first round + travelling + accommodation represent a budget that we can unfortunately not afford). It is very probable that Alicia's teacher will want her to participate in flute competitions as well...
Another fact: all three of them should be attending summer masterclasses, as young musicians generally do, but have never been able to, as these are always costly and do not fit in our budget.

Liam and Raphaël are working alongside their studies (lessons and babysitting).
We are dedicating all our budget to provide our children with the best environment and musical education, but without some sponsorship, it will be difficult for our three "Vienna musicians" to follow their path and develop to their full potential.
