Music Therapy Services of Simcoe County has been a community partner with Roberta Place since 2002. Over the last many years we have supported the mental health of hundreds of their residents with individual and group music therapy sessions. When the pandemic prevented us from going into Roberta Place back in March of last year, they recognized the benefit of music therapy and helped us conduct online sessions on all 5 home areas every week!
These weekly sessions became a highlight for many residents and staff members. They not only brought the residents stimulation, an outlet for self-expression and joy but also helped boost the morale among the employees and brighten everyone’s day.

As you may have heard on the news Roberta Place in Barrie has been ravaged by a variant strain of COVID-19. Almost every resident and staff member has been infected. This has become a worst case scenario for the residents, their family members and the employees.
We know that once the outbreak is over there will be a lot of work to do in supporting the mental health of those affected. Resuming music therapy sessions when the home is able, will offer a small sense of normalcy for the residents. It will provide them with stimulation, bring them joy and most importantly will support their mental health.

Our company has committed to donating two weeks of services - one session each week on all 5 home areas. Our goal is to raise $3,000 so we can support the residents and care team for the next three months while they focus on recovering from this tragedy.
We are turning to our community to ask for your help and if you will consider partnering with us. Your generosity will help bring back smiles to the residents and staff at Roberta Place. On behalf of our clients, the residents at Roberta Place, we thank you and appreciate you sharing our fundraiser with your friends and family.
