Music Therapy Sessions

Over the past 3 years Anam Music Therapy have been providing much needed sessions at Little Acorns. Families are experiencing long waiting lists for Early Intervention Services such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and a lack of Special Preschool places. In order to support children and families attending Little Acorns we have been funding a half day Music Therapy session each week.

The sessions includes one to one and group work helping children with emotional regulation, reducing anxiety, reinforcing positive behaviors, promoting peer interaction, helping the child identify their own inner strengths, and resources to build confidence, providing a calm space for them to regulate.

Anam Music Therapy was established in 2020 by Fabian Joyce and Lisa Kelly. Both Fabian and Lisa are graduates of the MA Music Therapy at the University of Limerick. They provide home-based music therapy services, contractual services to other health and social care organisations and community-based music therapy programmes funded by philanthropy, fundraising and/or corporate sponsorship.

In order to continue our sessions here at Little Acorns we need your help. Our target is €8250.00 and all proceeds raised will go towards the delivery of the Music Therapy programme for children.
