Hello, my good friend and beloved music teacher to so many of our children here in San Mateo, Geoff , needs our help!

Here's his story in his words:

I am a music teacher at the School of Rock in San Mateo. While working with the kids, I noticed I was unable to play the notes on my guitar, and what happened was that sometime on Thurs. October 6, I had a silent Ischemic STROKE

I went to the hospital Fri., where I underwent

tests and after several scans, the results showed the stroke was diagnosed via an MRI.

It occurred in the right side of my brain and is affecting the motor functions of my left arm and left leg.

The probable cause was diagnosed as high blood pressure due to stress.

After going to rehab yesterday, Wednesday, November 2nd, I was told it would be anywhere from 6 months to a year before I am fully recovered. Though I seem to be hoping for sooner rather than later.

Things that are difficult right now with my hands:

typing, playing instruments such as piano, guitar and

with my feet: walking

The kids he has taught over the years and helped to put so many awesome performances on are devastated and feel a little helpless as to how to help their rock star teacher, so this is one way. We know the magic he creates as I have personally witnessed the talent blossom with these kids, and their stage presence helps with so many other aspects of their lives, such as confidence. He is patient, and kids and one can witness the excitement he exudes during a performance beaming out of him. The kids can feel it too.

Please help Geoff get back on his feet doing what he loves the most, teaching the kids. Your donation will help lessen the stress so he can move on.
