Help Send Aisha and Alex to Summer Music Camps

My name is Aisha Corona, and I’m a 16 year-old violinist from Mexico. My brother's name is Alejandro, who is 14 and is a pianist.

A few months ago we auditioned for two amazing summer music programs in the US: Summer String Institute (UNT, Texas), and the Global Summer Institute of Music (UVA in Richmond, Virginia). We recently received our acceptance letters that informed us that we were also the winners of scholarships for both camps! We are so grateful and excited for this opportunity.

We were born into a musician family and music is one of the most important things in our life. I started playing violin at age 4, and my brother started playing piano at age 7. We've both won national and international music competitions, played as soloists with orchestras, and recently started playing together as a duo. Here is our video of playing Beethoven's Sonata 1

We've been looking forward to participating in these summer programs and for the opportunities these will allow us to take part in such as taking private lessons with world-famous teachers and making music with great musicians from all around the world!

My brother and I were also announced as finalists of the competition at the Global Institute of Music of which the winners will have the opportunity to perform at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center. This would be a dream come true and we hope you will consider supporting us in our endeavors to be a part of these incredible summer programs.

We need to raise at least $2,000 (USD)* by May 31 in order to confirm our participation in the camp. Thank you for being part of our musical journey.

*Please note that all donations are in US Dollars.

As the host of this GoFundMe Campaign, I have had the privilege of working with and hosting these talented young musicians for the past few years during summer music camps. It is not only their talent and dedication that set them apart, but also their drive, passion and discipline in practicing and being focused on becoming the best in their instrument that impressed me the most about Aisha and Alejandro. They have amazing opportunities to attend prestigious summer music programs in the US this summer. They have received outstanding scholarships, but need additional funds to cover their travel and lodging/food expenses while attending the camps. Invest in the lives of the next generation of musicians who will touch people's lives through art and change the world one note at a time!

Warmly,
Andrea (Texas Mom)
