I am writing to you to ask whether you would like to support our new music project at Comrie Primary School.

I am sure you will agree with the power of music and the benefits that music can bring. Music lifts the soul, brings joy. When we learn and create music together, it brings connection and community. Music inspires. Music develops creativity, problem-solving and logic. Music helps us to lay down our worries and tap our toes.

However, currently the opportunity for children at Comrie Primary School to learn an instrument and have weekly music sessions depends on whether the family has the financial means, or chooses to pay for these extracurricular lessons.

We believe that every child deserves to experience and learn music on a regular basis. We want our young people to have the opportunity to dive into music and learn an instrument if they would like to.

This term we are lucky to have an experienced and inspiring music teacher, Adelaide Carlow, offering music lessons to all pupils in Comrie Primary School. Adelaide has previously led Comrie’s community choir, Earnsong, she also runs MYSTRO (Milnathort Youth String Orchestra), as well as running music camps and offering instrument tuition. We are currently raising funds to pay for this project at the end of term. We are aiming to raise £1000 to cover costs.

If we can find sufficient funding and sponsorship, our intention beyond this term is to continue this project, offering whole school music sessions and aiming towards subsidised music tuition and instrument loan for all pupils.
