It has been 15 years since our school has had a consistent music program. Luckily for us, in 2025 ONLY, the District sent two part-time music teachers, a vocal and an instrumentalist. Our children and their families now have a taste of what having a music curriculum feels like; enriching and rounding the whole educational experience. We can’t go back!
Moving forward, we need $45K per school year to fund a permanent music program. The breakdown is $95 per student for a whole year of music lessons. Private music lessons once a week for 30 minutes cost between $30-$50. You can't beat this deal.
We know that through music we can bring the best out of our children. Educational curriculums including music see improvements in academic performance by enhancing attention span, memory, and language skills. Music fosters creativity, leading to increased flexibility, better problem-solving, and social-emotional growth.
And as a school, we want to remain competitive. Other schools nearby, Pomelo and Welby Way, already have music programs as part of their curriculums.
Thank you for helping us make Music on Justice Street a reality.
