At the tender age of 13, my world collapsed. The faith that was my
foundation, had crumbled beneath me. No one had answers to the
barrage of questions my mind was continuously flooded with. The
following 7 years of my life proved to be the most pivotal.
I believe that the most important thing I will do in my life, is tell the
stories of what I learned in the trenches. We each connect to movies,
music, books, etc. The way we connect to another's story is proof that
we are not alone in our struggles.
I have been working hard to establish a music foundation. This music is meant to comfort, connect, guide, and hold space. The songs are what I wish I had when I was going through Hell.
The single "Lights Burn Out" released 01/11/19, breaking ground on a series of upcoming music. The upcoming releases build up to the album "Welcome to the Trenches, which chronicles the 7 year period through 3 phases:
The Descend tells the stories of a time I lost my grip on life. It was a
slippery slope of sleepless, panic-filled nights, into a crippling
depression. These songs are meant to hold space when things are
crumbling. They are for the times when our foundation is cracking
beneath us. Even in the anxiety of the stories, they will serve as a
connection. Knowing someone has "been there" is comforting in
troubling times.
The Descend:
1. "Lights Burn Out"
2. "Sky Fall"
3. "Stay Down"
4. "Good Graces"
5. "Deep End"
To give you an example of "The Trenches" middle phase, I tear up just
reading the lyrics to "Find Me". These are 5 songs chronicling a very
desperate, somewhat heartbreaking phase of my journey. These songs are here to hold space when words are just not enough. They can also
Be the words in a time when words may feel like they aren't "going
passed your lips".
This phase was my rock bottom. The beauty of a hitting the ground, is
you can stand up. These songs are the journey through the dark nights, deep waters, and muddy valleys. They hold the lantern high to light the way.
The Trenches:
6. "Passed My Lips"
7. "Orphan"
8. "Anymore"
9. "Find Me"
10. "Here"
I believe "the trenches" are our battle grounds and we all wage war in
them from time to time. This is the "sunshine after the storm" period. A triumphant time of celebration.
I realized I had been carrying the weight of various traumas for years.
"Let it Go" serves as the anthem to dropping the baggage and dead
weight of the chaos we no longer have to live in. These songs are how
we "rise" out of the trenches and let "sunshine" fill the dark corners of
the valleys we ascend from.
The Ascend:
11. "Let it Go"
12. "Remember"
13. "Rise"
14. "The Other Side of This"
15. "Sunshine on a War Zone"
This musical journey is truly the most important thing I will do in my
lifetime. Your contribution will allow this music to reach as far and wide as possible. Though these are personal accounts from my "trenches",
I believe that these stories are all of our stories.
This will allow me to fund the production of the album as well as
all promotion and publicity. Your contribution will also help me prepare
for live shows toward the 3rd quarter of this year.
I believe these stories will be with people in troubling times, to light the way or simply just be there to comfort and understand. As well as be
the stories that someone rocks out to in their victory lap out of a
troubling day, month, or phase.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making this dream a
reality. I couldn't have done this without you.
