The community of Xina Bená village, located along the lower Envira River, in the municipality of Feijó, Acre State (Brazil), is currently facing a very difficult situation due to severe flooding. These floods are affecting homes, crops, and the daily life of the villagers.

This fundraising campaign was born from both a human and artistic collaboration.

Gotam Sen, an indie folk composer and singer, has learned over the years the Huni Kuin medicine songs, which are traditionally transmitted orally within the culture.

He partnered with Rua Buse, a young Huni Kuin musician and txana (carrier and transmitter of sacred songs), to create an EP of sacred Huni Kuin chants, rooted in respect, cultural transmission, and genuine collaboration.

This EP is now available on all major streaming platforms (including Spotify).

However, streaming revenues are very limited and are not sufficient to respond to the current emergency.

For this reason, this fundraiser was created.

The funds raised will be used to directly support the village of Xina Bená, which is currently affected by flooding, and to help the community meet urgent needs related to living conditions, mobility, recovery, and local mutual aid.

La communauté du village de Xina Bená, situé sur le bas fleuve Envira, dans la municipalité de Feijó (État de l’Acre, Brésil), traverse actuellement une situation très difficile en raison de fortes inondations qui affectent les habitations, les cultures et la vie quotidienne des habitants.

Dans ce contexte, ce projet est né d’une rencontre artistique et humaine.

Gotam Sen, compositeur et chanteur indie folk, a appris au fil des années les chants-médecine de la tradition Huni Kuin, transmis oralement au sein de la culture.

Il s’est associé à Rua Buse, jeune musicien Huni Kuin, txana (porteur et transmetteur des chants sacrés), pour créer ensemble un EP de chants sacrés Huni Kuin, dans un esprit de respect, de transmission et de dialogue culturel.

Cet EP est aujourd’hui disponible sur toutes les plateformes de streaming (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.).

Les revenus générés par l’écoute sont cependant très limités et insuffisants face à l’urgence actuelle.

C’est pourquoi cette cagnotte a été créée.

Les fonds collectés serviront à soutenir directement le village de Xina Bená, touché par les inondations, afin d’aider la communauté à faire face aux besoins immédiats (conditions de vie, déplacements, reconstruction, entraide locale).
