A Piano & Prayers
Hello friends, family, and loved ones.
Thanks for being a part of the intricate, strong network of support for my sister and her husband during this unfathomable hardship. Angie and Alex are exhibiting incredible strength during this time of sadness. We miss Adeline Mary every day.
I know many of you incredibly supportive friends have felt compelled to reach out and they're so grateful for the love and support, but still beyond heartbroken and very raw. They certianly will continue to need you in the coming months and beyond. The two of them have truly felt all the prayers that have been coming their way, especially during the toughest moments of the delivery.
A lot of you are looking for ways to bring them comfort, and its really hard to know what to do- Lord, do I get it.
As you know, Angie and Alex are creative, joyous, and musically spontaneous people. If you've ever heard an Alex original, you've probably found yourself singing it to yourself days later.
The only material thing Angie has expressed a desire for (other than dry-aged beef) has been a piano. Music can reach the heart when other things cannot, and I think this would be an incredible source of comfort and healing for both of them.
They did not ask me to do this. Honestly, I feel a little awkward sending it out . But, if you feel like contributing, anything is helpful. Even if you just want to send a prayer or two.
Obviously, if they feel they'd like to put the gifts towards something else (a memorial service, etc), I hope (and know) you'll all honor their immediate needs.
Please do not share this on social media. If you'd like to send it to friends who know them and might be similarly distressed and at a loss for how to send love, by all means, share it with them.
Thanks for being a wealth of comfort and for respecting their needs for privacy and space.
So much love to you all.
