Music, Expression and Healing

Music invites us into a timeless, creative flow state that's immeasurably soul-nourishing.
It's been very odd to be disconnected socially and musically for so long.
During our orders to socially distance from one another, I kept hearing a voice of Unity consciousness. An invitation to listen inward. I've had a lot of healing to do. My 11-year persistent back pain issue ended pretty suddenly when I learned to really listen to it. This blessing lead me to other callings. To stillness and healing. I was so busy trying to fill others' shoes that I tripped over my own until I got quiet enough and learned to walk comfortably, at home, in my body. Wellness got easier then. What a teacher Life is. I'm so grateful to show up for It now and notice that nothing we experience is inconsequential.
Still, right-side neuropathy has kept me uncoupled from playing music longer than I'd hoped but there has been more to discover. And that's been exciting. I'll get to share how I've been healing the neuropathy.
Now, at 60 (whew!), I feel rejuvenated, humbled, and looking forward to what's next. Another 30? While distancing from outer-world distractions I holed up, got still, and a devotion to music surged. Feels like coming home. I recorded 14 tunes for an upcoming album, "Inseparable" and archived around 400 pages of stuff I love to practice and teach. The "Shed" teaching material is going to be fun to share with students and teachers looking for fresh resources. It's a zen-like method for jazz "Woodshedders" who are looking for a non-grinding improvisation method of building harmonic fluency and fluidity from a composer's perspective.
"Shedding" this way will compel one to compose. I tried to find an original niche that's not available everywhere on YouTube already. My test group thinks I've actually hit on something. It's been helpful to other teachers as well. A new effective resource to share never hurts eh? The "Inseparable" project feels very personal, meaningful, and healing. I'll be posting on YouTube regularly and look forward to engaging with the whole "Social Media World". It's about time... Chortle.
I knew there was still work to do at 60. Thank God.
These donations sponsor the development and launch of "The Silent 3 Jazz Shed". You'll get "freebies" of course. I plan to do an interview podcast series featuring stories from creative people willing to share their personal revelations and epiphanies describing their own creative flow process. Any healing experiences as well. We're all storytellers so start sharing eh?
My expenses include my web design help, server costs, and of course, musician buddies to pull it all together. Thank you for considering supporting us at Silent3. Sincerely, Steve
