Hi, My name is Sarah Martinez! I am a music instructor for the program Recovery Works! at Taos Pueblo. Recovery Works! is a program designed for prolonged healing from alcohol and substance misuse. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2009 and am a proud Taosena. Taos has taught me that having access to a creative outlet can have a profound impact not only on the individual but on the collective community. Intergenational healing is within reach. With your support, I could start teaching with Pueblo youth in the Taos Pueblo Youth Outreach program as well as with elders at the Lillian Romero Senior Center as soon as THIS SUMMER!!!

I intend to teach a variety of music classes and provide opportunities to learn guitar, bass, drums, piano, music production on Ableton Live, live sound engineering and DJing.

Currently, Recovery Works! does not have any music gear except for an old drum kit, one bass, one guitar and my grandpa's old-school keyboard I brought in.

I have compiled a list with links to the gear I will be purchasing. Donations of music gear and/or instruments are encouraged! Additional funds will be used for gear upkeep (guitar strings, bass strings, drumheads, cables, stands) and for any other things we find we need: guitar pics, practice drum pads, drumsticks, instructional books, and additional instruments.

All music gear acquired by this fundraiser will be donated to the above Taos Pueblo programs.
