My name is Jazara. I’m a 17 year old singer/songwriter from Santa Barbara.
I’ve recently been accepted into a one year music program called Limpi, which is located in Norway. Music is everything to me. Ever since I was little I always knew I wanted to be a singer and inspire people with my music. Being given this amazing once in a lifetime opportunity feels unreal, and all the work I’ve been doing feels like it’s paying off. I’m very fortunate and lucky to be accepted into the program because only 48 people worldwide are accepted, and I feel even luckier to have unconditional support from my family. Unfortunately, the school cost $22,000. Luckily I was given a 50% sponsorship, which they said doesn’t happen often, but even with it I still owe them $11,000. For as long as I can remember my family has always struggled financially but they knew this school would be life changing for me. So without my knowledge or approval my mom took money out of her retirement to help with the tuition and living expenses. I would like to help her by helping myself, so she doesn't have to help as much as she already does.
