Hi everyone,
My name is Kristina, and I’m reaching out for help for my dog, Mushroom.
On October 27, Mushroom suddenly stopped breathing and turned blue. I rushed him to the emergency hospital, where they were able to stabilize him. Since that day, he’s been in and out of emergency and vet visits almost every single day — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Right now, Mushroom is staying overnight in an oxygen tank and will be undergoing a CT scan to find out what’s causing a large lump in his throat. The vets are not sure yet whether it’s an abscess, something lodged in there, a mass, or possibly cancer. We’re hoping the CT scan will finally give us a clear picture of what we’re dealing with so we can make a treatment plan.
I adopted Mushroom in April 2025 after he was found on the street suffering from bladder stones and severe skin infections. This dog has already been through hell, and all I want is to give him the best life possible. He’s my heart and soul — the sweetest, most resilient little fighter.
Mushroom is also the brother to my dog Kiwi, and she can tell something is very wrong. She’s been visibly stressed and anxious without him home, pacing, whining, and constantly looking for her brother. Watching both of them go through this has been heartbreaking.
I’ve never been one to ask for financial help, but right now, I’m desperate. We’ve already racked up $6,000 in vet bills with no definite answers yet. If Mushroom ends up needing surgery, it could cost anywhere from $7,000 to $9,000 on top of the $6000. The CT scan is the next critical step to get the answers we need.
As a small business owner, it’s been extremely difficult to manage these emergency costs while still caring for the dogs in my daycare. Putting him down is not an option at this point — he’s alert, fighting, and still has so much life in him. I owe it to him to do everything I can.
If you’re able to donate or even share this fundraiser, it would mean the world to all of us. Every contribution helps cover Mushroom’s emergency bills, the CT scan, and potential surgery so we can get him the care he needs to breathe and heal.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
Kristina, Mushroom & Kiwi
