Hi everyone! We are a group of dedicated student filmmakers creating a short film, titled Muscle Memory. As seniors at Rider University, this film serves as our senior thesis.
Lawrence, a former amateur boxer with dementia, fights for his tie to his own identity; while his daughters grapple with the decision of whether it’s time to put him in a nursing home.
Our film, Muscle Memory, evolved from our personal encounters with those affected by dementia. Our goal, besides creating an engaging experience, is to expound on arguments amongst the group on the nature of identity, specifically in regards to memory. We strive to make a film that highlights the difficulties our loved ones face, the feeling of your own identity slipping away from you. We’re seeking to create a roughly 25-minute drama that captures our own experiences with memory-affecting illnesses. Our team is comprised of Director Reylan Alexis, Producer Briana Bradley, Cinematographer James Felcon, and Writer Sophia McCarthy.
All of the funds raised will go towards talent, set design, location, craft services, film festival submission fees, etc.
