Murshida VA: the Path of Victory through Surrender.

"One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws." -Martin Luther King Jr.

"Revolution is a phase, a mood, like spring, and just as spring has its buds and showers, so revolution has its ebullience, its bravery, its hope, and its solidarity. " -Rebecca Solnit

As many of us in the world today are already envisioning, embodying, and shaping the face of a new paradigm, some of us are bravely risking our lives and/or our freedom for the sake of a compassionate and sustainable future on our precious Earth.

Often the price of such activism is literal-- the existing system exacts penalties for resisting control, penalties that place an overwhelming burden upon an individual to meet their demands or be silenced.

When the price of freedom is designed to be too overwhelming for the individual to meet, that crisis can birth a great opportunity for Unity to arise.

This wonderful woman... whom most of us know affectionately as Murshida VA...

This beautiful soul, who has never harmed anyone, who tirelessly works for peace, who spreads love and joy to those whose lives she touches, is in trouble. She needs our help, and I know we can help her, together, with our Unity and in Solidarity.

She is an artist, a poet, a world-healer, a thought leader and peace activist, whose work embraces the full spectrum of healing— from the deep inner work of the psyche, to interpersonal relationships, to our relationships with our own human systems, and with the ecology, with life itself.

She reluctantly entered the marijuana underground in response to a call to change the law and her journey ended in Georgia, where, with the help of an insightful judge, her case set a precedent which indeed has opened the way to change a very unhealthy law.

She has committed no violent acts. Her only crime was transporting medical marijuana through perhaps the worst place one can risk doing that-- the State of Georgia.

Miraculously, she did not go to prison, but she was sentenced to pay a FINE (NOT restitution-- a FINE of $30,000 plus "court fees" of $22,600) $52,600 or face the maximum penalty of 30 years in prison-- in the worst woman's prison in the country.

Yes, it's all about the money.

And yes, when she pays the entire fine, she will be free.

We want her FREE.

I know her:
She doesn't have this kind of money.

After three years on probation, she had done everything she could do on her own, when a letter arrived from Georgia on November 4, 2016.

The letter claimed she still owed $51,991.35 and that she was $4,000 in arrears.

I read the letter. It was surreal, written in pink ink, and demanding $4,000 by November 15th and $2,000 on the 15th of each month after that until her entire fine was paid.

She doesn't have this kind of money. None of us do.

None of us do.

But together, together we raised that first $4,000 in 4 days and on November 10th she sent that first payment to Georgia.

It was kind of a miracle actually. A miracle of love, unity, solidarity, and hope.

Those of us who know and love her came together. We made the deadline and now we are taking it all the way.

We want her free.
You also want her free.

I already know her, so let me tell you what this woman is like:

She is a Bodhisattva. Her life is devoted to liberating others from suffering and she will willingly encounter suffering so that others can be free.

This is who she has always been and who she will always be.

She has spent her life traveling bravely into the world’s pain so that she might find the medicine to heal that pain.

She embraces people who have lost all their hope and brings them hope again.

When people ask for her support she gives it-- even when they have nothing to give her in return-- over and over and over again.

Even while this mess has been going on in her life she has gone on giving.

She has helped and continues to help an incalcualable number of people in her life regardless of their ability to assist her.

This is called 'Unconditional Giving' and is something she has taught many of us.

When she is free of this fine...

She will be leading The Dyani Institute for Peace and Social Justice, a newly budding world service organization.

She will speak tirelessly on the relationship between authentic peace and compassionate justice.

She will teach workshops to awaken the healing power of the human voice and the fundamental sovereignty of the human spirit.

She will be releasing recordings, singing to all of the oceans of the world, collaborating with artists and musicians who are committed to world healing.

She will be building healing sound installations that are living prayers for the waters.

She will be dancing and singing with children and grown ups alike, helping families and lovers to live in more peace and beauty.

She will be sitting with the Indigenous Elders, learning the songs and stories which have been lost, bringing them back to the world again, helping to heal the torn threads of our Ancestral DNA.

She will be seeking out every possible way to resolve intractable conflict.

She will be standing on the ground in Jerusalem, singing prayers in the sacred language of every religion of the world.

This is who this woman is.

This woman does not belong in prison.

We need her free.
We need to hear her voice.
We need to read her words.
We need to be changed by her insight and healed by her compassion.

This is who this woman is.
She does not belong in prison.

We need her free.

Any amount that you can share will bring her one step closer to the freedom that will allow her to continue to spread the perfect love that is the very core of her beautiful being.

Sharing this GoFundMe campaign can make an exponential difference: YOU can make an exponential difference.

Imagine if you were in the position of being penalized for doing what you knew was right by God, only to be taken before Caesar for judgment.

It is time now.

Help us Free Murshida VA.

Let's set a precedent, just as she has. Let's stand in solidarity. Let's free a woman who is "guilty" in the eyes of human law and a Saint in the eyes of God.

As Murshida VA bravely asked the police and the DEA in Georgia, "If people go on obeying a harmful law without question, as if that law is the immutable Word of God, how will that law ever change?"

With your donations and your shares we can do this!

All gratitude and blessings to everyone who is reading these words. Thank you for participating in the redemption, salvation, and emancipation of one of the world's most prolific Freedom Fighters.

May we walk in beauty and in balance, in joy and in wholeness, and with the blessings of all of the Ancestors, for all of our days on Earth.

"May we always remember to laugh." -Murshida VA

She stood for our freedom. Now its time we stood for hers.
