Recently, our family received some shattering news. Our beloved mother/wife/friend/teacher, Leslie, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Just as we were beginning to accept and comprehend this difficult situation, life decided to give us another heartbreaking blow. Leslie’s son, Sean, whose friendly and kind nature impresses everyone who meets him, was also diagnosed with cancer.
Leslie is a mother of five, a devoted teacher and an accomplished tennis player. She enjoys running, reading, music, cooking, sports and outdoor activities. Sean is 22 years old, and recently moved to New York City and started a new job there. Additionally, he coaches youth soccer on weekends. Sean is an excellent tennis player and athlete as well as a huge Boston sports fan. He loves to snowboard, wakeboard, play hockey and basketball. Both Leslie and Sean cherish their friends and family and love spending time with them.
As much as we would like to pretend this isn’t happening and remain in a period of disbelief, reality will not allow us the time. Unfortunately, costs are mounting and we cannot ignore it. We are forced to take long periods of time off of work as medical expenses continue to rise.
For these reasons, we are asking our friends, family and community for even the smallest donation to help us tackle this financial hardship. Any help, no matter how small, would mean the world to our family. Additionally, positive vibes and prayers would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go to costs related to this financial impact, and if we are so fortunate as to have anything extra, it will be donated to charity.
Rather than let cancer defeat us, we remind ourselves that cancer cannot cripple love, it cannot shatter hope, it cannot overcome faith, it cannot kill friendship, it cannot silence courage, and it cannot conquer the strong (especially the Murray Strong ).
