As we all knew - Dad lived for the moment and not so much for the future. Because of this I’m saddened to say that there’s not much in the pot to cover his funeral costs.
His landlord has forced us to go through his flat already and get the place emptied, so we are hoping to raise some funds by selling his vast shoe and clothes collection however we know it will not be enough.
we have set up this page in the hope that those who are able to, can donate easily so that we can give Dad the send off he deserves and would love.
We hate to have to ask this and have been shocked at the extortionate costs that come with funerals. We have gathered together all that we can afford to clear some of Dads debts and pay what is needed to be paid but with young families and our own bills and Christmas around the corner we feel we have no other option but to ask for help.
If anyone was thinking of sending flowers to Dads service we urge you to donate instead. We plan to scatter Dads ashes off of the Pier when the time is right along with his best Buddy Stamford the Dog, So Flowers would only be wasted. Everyone that knows Dad knows how much he loved to be on the Beach. This was his happy place so could think of no better place for him to be.
Every penny really will help. So please if you are able, give what you can so that we send Dad off in style - Something we didn’t expect to be doing for many many years. Any extra funds raised will be put behind the Bar at his wake so that we can all raise a toast together to celebrate his life. Or towards an eventual bench along the seafront (hopefully) a place we can all visit to take some time to remember him.
The dates for Dads funeral will be confirmed in the next day or two and we of course will keep everyone up to date with all plans.
