It is sometimes too difficult to put into words exactly how much this man means to me. Growing up without a father, I was no stranger to grief heartache, or even poverty. However, that all changed when I met Scott. He's put my brother and I first over all else, for as long as I can remember..
Scott Patrick Murphy, Murphy to most. The name I find most fond is Fuzzy. Since I was 12 years old, Scott has been my idol, my confidant, my shoulder to cry on, my shield. Since I was 12 years old Scott has been the one person I can count on for everything, no matter how ridiculous. This man is the only man that I've ever been able to consider my father and I'm proud to this very moment to have the title of 'babybird.'
Scott suffered a stroke on Monday July 23rd, due to high blood pressure. The stroke caused him to have blood on the brain and pressure in his skull. They did a life saving procedure to drain the blood off of his brain, however, he is not expected to make a full recovery. The doctors believe he will have very weak use of the left side of his body, if any use at all. Scott may not be able to work for a while if not forever. I am the sole party responsible for caring for Scott but I can't do it on my own while providing for my family of three.
I know so many people love him and want to help. The money we raise will go straight to his medical supplies, doctor visits, care, medicines, and hospital stay as he is expected to be in the ICU for at least 2 more weeks. I have filled out the forms from the hospital to knock off 80% but the bill will be well over $5,000.
I'm reaching out to all of you because this was a horribly unexpected event that will leave him without an income for several months while he undergoes physical therapy and intensive treatment.
I will be updating this forum as we progress further into his recovery and status. I ask that you guys please help me take care of my dad, he's an amazing man that gives whatever he has to anyone and it would be so so wonderful if that good karma could come back around for him in this desperate time of need.
