The last several years have been one struggle after another, including multiple job losses, a move from DC to NYC, the overdose of a man that I loved and lived with, an off-again-on-again relationship with illicit drugs, the accrual of tens of thousands of dollars in debt, and the loss of my two beloved pit bulls, Brooklyn and Sable.

Almost two years ago, I returned to DC to take the position of Communications Director at AIDS United, thinking my return would be a respite from the chaos. Unfortunately this was not the case, my struggles continued for a year when, on Oct. 9 of last year I was diagnosed with HIV.  I've spent the last year working to clean myself up, strive for mental and physical wellness, and finally learned last week that my virus is undetectable, and by extension untransmittable! 

Great news! 

Unfortunately, along the journey I was forced to leave my position, and the insurance and income that came along with it.  And now,  on the first anniversary of my HIV diagnosis, I am facing a future equipped with six pills of Biktarvy (thanks Gilead!)  and a court summons for eviction at the end of the month. I'm hoping that you might be able to spare any amount of money to help lift the monkey off my back, and keep a roof over my head.
