My name is JoAnne and I know a family who needs help. They are my dear friends, Jackie and Tom along with their 2 kids, who have an adorable 6-month-old Yellow Lab named Murphy. Anyone who has a precious fur baby understands how easily they become a part of our family and Murphy has quickly become their furry child. Jackie and Tom recently adopted Murphy for their kids to add a little sunshine to their lives. Unfortunately, Murphy needs surgery for a persistent right aortic arch, which will cost $5,000-$5500. PRAA is a congenital anomaly of the blood vessels of the heart that results in constriction of the esophagus. This means that Murphy has a ring around his esophagus which keeps his food from going down, and as a result, he is not growing and thriving as he should be. This disease can cause Murphy to aspirate, which could lead to pneumonia, which could lead to his death. Right now, he needs to sit in a special chair to keep him up on his hind legs when he eats, however he is not able to obtain the proper amount of food and does not get all the nutrition he needs.

I desperately want to help my friends, not only because I love them but because Jackie was recently laid off from her job of 23 years and Tom has not worked for the past 2 and a half years due to a stroke he had during brain aneurysm surgery. Murphy has brought so many needed smiles and so much love to this family as well as my own. Murphy is loved by our entire cul-de-sac and is fondly known as Murffles by all of us. He is a wonderful pup, and they are a wonderful family.
