Murphy Stark

Donation protected

The Stark’s family dog Murphy, has been with them for 11 years this past Saturday. And now, he needs our help!

Last week, out of nowhere, he had to be rushed to the vet. They found a tumor on his heart and he needs surgery. (Below is a more descriptive account of what is going on). The good news is that he is a great candidate for this surgery. If the tumor is removed and his recovery goes well, his prognosis is really good!

As we all know, surgery is expensive!! Anyone that knows the Stark family knows how amazing they are.…and anyone who knows Murphy, has fallen in love with him at first sight. Please help them bring their dog home and allow them to deal with this heartbreaking situation without such a huge financial burden.

Kyle and Ellen are such selfless and caring people, I know they would never ask for this help themselves. So I wanted to start this for them to surprise them and help out anyway I could!

There are 2 sweet little girls waiting for him, and Kyle and Ellen need their best friend back.

One minute Murphy was hiking and running around , and the next, he wouldn’t get up or eat and would scream when they tried to move him. Kyle and Ellen immediately took him to their vet.

The vet did X-rays and found a tumor on his heart. Murphy was sent to Malvern to a specialist for an ultrasound. As they did a biopsy to find out what type of tumor this was, they needed to drain his chest because it was filling with fluid. This fluid has continued for several days while he has been in and out 4 different hospitals.

Today Murphy is going in for a surgery called Median sternotomy. He has a large thymoma tumor in front of his heart that is creating the fluid in his chest that is inhibiting his breathing. This type of tumor is not responsive to chemotherapy or radiation so his only option is this (major) surgery. He’s having the procedure done at Pinnacle veterinary specialists but he’s been treated at 4 different hospitals since his diagnosis on Tuesday. If they did not move forward with surgery, they would have had to euthanize. This tumor doesn’t give them any time with Murphy because of the impact on his breathing, so it needs to be done.

If you can help the Stark’s by donating or even just sharing this page, I know they will appreciate it so much!!
