Dear patrons, friends, and family,

These are very troubling times and I would like to take this opportunity to make an announcement on behalf of Murasaki Sake Lounge and its staff.

As you all know, Governer Pritzker's mandated that all restaurants and bars close effective Monday 3/16 has to slow the spread of COVID-19. While we understand this decision will have a positive impact on the public health of our Chicago community, it comes at a heavy cost. For those of us whose livelihoods depend on our ability to go to work each day, having to shut our doors has meant our servers, staff, resident DJs and musicians are all now without jobs and without income.

Murasaki is a unique and historic establishment. For more than 30 years, we are the only Japanese bar owned and staffed by Japanese in downtown Chicago. We offer the largest selection of high quality and rare Sake, Shochu and whisky from all over Japan. We are supported by many generous local and foreign customers, making the environment at Murasaki warm and with unique character. 

Like all of us in Chicago, Murasaki must now learn to adapt with the rapidly changing times, and find new ways of connecting with our patrons.
Therefore, until things return to normal, we have decided to start a GoFundMe campaign!  All the donations will be shared with the artists, servers, and volunteers who make up the soul of Murasaki. 

We are also planning a variety of rewards to those who donate including live-streaming events, special performances and other deals.
We have many ideas and are actively preparing. Please follow us to see the latest updates. 



As of now, previously planned events such as Sake seminars, live entertainment guests from Japan and new product release events are temporarily postponed. Once this astonishing ordeal is over, we will bring even more fun back to all of you.
