Murals for Schools Project 22 in 2022
Donation protected
UPDATE! WE JUST COMPLETED SCHOOL #13 !!!
We are inviting Bay Area schools to participate in an exciting new art project entitled "22 in 22" created by Bay Area based Taiwanese Guamanian Artist, Christina Xu. Christina will generously spend her time and talent to paint 22 murals in the year 2022 as a direct response to the unprecedented times our children have faced recently. We envision 2022 as a time of healing and striving for a better tomorrow. "22 in 22" seeks to do that through the power of ART.
Each school will get an original mural designed by Xu. The schools and communities will have the opportunity to customize murals from the playbook she has created for this project, including school colors, animals, key words, icons, fanciful characters and much more.
Our purpose is to elevate school's - their building wall, classroom walls- and communities with ART and give students a true home room that elicits joy and hope. Students are still processing the trauma of coming out of distance learning and the impact of isolation from the pandemic. Children need us to pave the way to this new future that recognizes and considers our mental and emotional well-being. We must remind our communities ART is a necessity in our schools and in our lives as a powerful method of processing. We must remind our children that a new future is possible, that what they imagine is possible and that we can make that future happen right now. With these murals, Xu hopes to bring healing and to inspire the youth to believe, to dream and to honor their well-being.
Your donation here will make magic happen within classrooms and validate the lives of youth across the Bay Area. Please join us in this movement of authenticity.
