A few days ago the rain started falling in Northern California. Anyone who has lived in Guerneville knows that every 10 to 15 years the waters rises and they get a bit of a flood, but no one was expecting what happened on Wednesday Feb.27th, 2019. Guerneville was devastated by the worst flooding in 25 years. Good friends of mine, Chris and Korrina Munsterman have a furniture building shop in town and what was great about the Munsterman's is, they never cut down trees for their products. Conservationists to the core, they would use reclaimed or salvaged trees, stumps, burls, etc. making use of what would otherwise be thrown away.Due to past flooding in the area, flood insurance hasn't been available in Guerneville for years. Chris and Korrina have essentially lost everything. I am hoping that by sharing this GoFundMe, enough money can be raised to help them replace the life they love. It is impossible for me to list everything they lost, saws, lathes, tables, endless hand tools, drills, table saws, planers, not to mention their stock of supply wood that floated away as the flood waters overtook the shop and yard.
If you care to see a short video of the flooding (plenty available on youtube) I was able to find one in particular that shows their shop at 55 seconds into the video here https://youtu.be/A09kxt5V76U
If you are not able to help with a donation, help by sharing this post. Thank you.
