Our dear friend and Day 1 sister, Munirah (“Muni”), recently suffered a devastating medical emergency that has forever changed her life and the lives of those who love her. In May, Muni suffered a stroke that caused bleeding in her brain. She spent months in the ICU, fighting through the most difficult moments, followed by intensive rehabilitation services in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy.
In a moment, everything shifted – and since then, Muni has been fighting back with incredible strength, resilience, and grace.
If you know Muni, you know how truly special she is: her warmth, loyalty, and strength make her the kind of person who always shows up for others, no matter what. She is the rock of her family—the steady, loving center of their world. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her, her husband, and their two beautiful kids as they adjust to a new chapter of their life together.
While her journey ahead may look different than what she had planned, one thing is certain: Muni is a warrior. Her will to recover and adapt is nothing short of inspiring, and she continues to face each day with courage and hope.
As she begins this long road of healing, we know that the emotional and physical challenges are only part of the picture. The financial burden—medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation, specialized equipment, home modifications, travel, and time away from work—is immense and continues to grow. This fundraiser will not only help cover some of Muni’s care, but also provide stability for her husband and children as they navigate the uncertainty ahead.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help lighten that load, to give Muni and her family the support and space to focus on what matters most: her recovery, her well-being, and each other. Every donation, no matter the size, brings relief, hope, and stability during an incredibly difficult time.
If you are not in a position to give, please consider sharing this campaign and keeping Muni in your thoughts and duas (prayers).
Thank you for standing beside her. Your love, duas, and support mean more than words can express.
