Wednesday August 20th we went to the ER through Powers Health. After about 5 hours, we were sent home and she was told to just follow up with her Cardiologist. So, the next day, August 21st per her Cardiologist we were told to go back to the ER, after she was still feeling sick and weak, as well as waking up with her left leg double the size. They did an ultrasound, and she was told she has a blood clot, but they saw something else higher up they were unsure of. So after doing 2 CT scans, an MRI, and a biopsy, and then a whole lot of waiting, we met with her oncologist on August 28th. That is when she was diagnosed with Aggressive B Cell Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Tuesday, September 2nd she was told she’s ineligible for short term disability due to only returning back to Franciscan in April. Her claim has since been passed on to be reviewed by FMLA, which will continue to secure her job and insurance, but upcoming, needed time off will all be unpaid. Which brings us here as a last resort. She will need a lot of time off work, for appointments as well as chemo which starts on Sept 11th. Which only adds more stress to her already stressful situation. We just hate seeing our mom go through this, so we're doing this to try and lighten the weight of her coming financial hardship. We know times are tough for everyone so a share alone goes a long way. Thank you!
