Gupta family(husband(Kunal Gupta), wife (Arti Mahajan) and their 22 months old son) went to Las Vegas from Louisville, Kentucky for a vacation. Unfortunately while drving from airport to hotel in a rental car, they met with a bad accident. Husband is fine but his wife’s chest shows sign of pneumothorax and their son got fracture in leg. Doctor suggested complete bedrest to wife for atleast 15 days and no air travel. Due to change of pressure, travelling by air will lead to increased risk of developing pneumothorax and collapse of lung which may be life threatening. They can neither go by road as their home is approx 2000 miles away. It is very difficult to travel by car in this situation for 30 hours.
Currently they are staying in Las Vegas. In order to bring them back to Louisville, Kentucky, long distance Ambulance is one option but very expensive one(cost approx $10k). Husband is currently taking care of wife and baby and will not be able to join his work atleast for next two months and have limited leave balance. They do not have much funds to bear all the expenses - wife’s medical bill/son’s medical bill/childcare/ travel. He had checked with Medical insurance and they said since its auto accident, their medical policy will not cover any expenses and have to rely on auto insurance. Auto insurance also telling max their policy will cover is $10k. We are sure that bill would exceed 20k as his wife was in ER overnight and three nights in ICU, so can expect huge bill.
I request everyone to please come forward and try to help them as much as you can.
