Help Bring Mumma's Boy to Melbourne & Adelaide Fringe!

Hello friends, family, and the wonderful arts community!

We are reaching out with an exciting opportunity to support a play that has already made waves at this year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival - and now, we need your help to take it to the next level.

After a successful season at Melbourne Fringe this year, we are thrilled to announce that Mumma's Boy has been selected for a six day run in Melbourne this February, followed by a debut at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe. But, we can’t do it alone. We’re aiming to raise $10,000 to help fund these upcoming performances, and we need your support to bring this unique, heartfelt, and hilarious show to a wider audience.

Why We Need Your Help

Producing a show is no small feat, and as independent theatre makers, we rely on your generosity to make our vision a reality. The funds raised will go toward:

  • Venue hire: We need to secure professional spaces in both Melbourne and Adelaide.
  • Travel costs: The drive and accommodation for the cast and crew to travel to Adelaide for the Fringe.
  • Promotional materials: We’ll be creating high quality photography and videography to spread the word about Mumma’s Boy to as many people as possible.
  • Set and lighting: To create the vibrant, immersive atmosphere of the show.

This is a labour of love, and every contribution, big or small, will make a direct impact on the success of the show.

About Mumma's Boy

Mumma's Boy is a dance-driven comedy that delves into the relatable - and often hilarious journey of family dynamics. It tells the story of a mother faced with the challenging decision of whether to kick her 30 year old son out of home. When she chooses the tough love route, she quickly realises that getting him out might not be as simple as she imagined.

Written by Alasdair Keith Gardiner, a filmmaker and theatre maker known for his sharp wit and compelling storytelling, Mumma’s Boy is brought to life with the expertise of choreographer Franco Leo. The result is a lively and heartfelt exploration of family, independence, and the ups and downs of growing up (or not).

Whether you’re a fan of comedy, dance, or just great storytelling, Mumma’s Boy promises to leave you laughing, thinking, and feeling a little bit more connected to the complexities of family life.
