For those that haven’t had the pleasure to meet him, this is Coda. He is a very loveable, energetic, and sweet, 33 lb butter ball!
“My mommy and daddy rescued me when I was just a few months old, with all the intentions of finding me a new home, but they fell in love with me, and so did my sister Cali”
The day before Easter all of our lives changed for the worst, as we went for a walk and out to play. Moments before leaving horror breaks out. Coda was playing ball with his family and got close to a fence where a bigger dog resided, little did we know the fence had a gap at the bottom, unfortunately, the size of codas head. In an instant the reactive dog three times the size of coda got a hold of codas face and began tugging at him trying to get him through the fence Codas mom and dad fought as much as they could through the only space they could to get the other dog to release him. In shock and unsure what the outcome would be, If he would live, still have his eye or vision they wrapped Coda up and rushed him to the nearest emergency vet they could find.
Miami Veterinary Specialist was our first stop where the Dr. was worried about damage around the Muscles, Nerve damage, along with the severity of the lacerations they referred us to the ophthalmologist for further reconstruction.
With a total of $502.16
Second stop: Thank God for Animal Eye Guys of Miami Gardens, and their incredible staff.
Dr. Martinez admittedly stated that Coda was the worst case she has ever seen, but they did not give up on Coda. They ultimately saved his life and saved his eye!
Over 70 stitches, and 3 hours later he was ready to go home. This will be a very long road as this was only the beginning. Right now we are happy to have our baby home, but only under the circumstances that he is sedated, and with 24-7 care. His eye is closed shut with stitches except for the a portion to get eye drops him. We have a lot of vet visits in our future, not only do we have to watch for infection, we also have to worry about the functions and nerves of his eyes and glands.

Today we took Coda for an early check up, because we did not like the fluid coming out. Come to find out via Dr. Martinez coda formed another abscess by his nose that needed to be cultured and drained. He also has some skin we have been watching to make sure it’s does not die off and become necrotic.
-$243.20
Money was not the main concern, Codas life was. His family is very quickly exhausting their funds to make sure he gets what he needs, even having to take time off of work.
Please any little bit helps, we love him dearly. As uncomfortable as it is to ask anyone for money go fund me is our last resource to helping out furry friend.
$3192.85 is what we have already spent, not including other medicines that were bought separately, and vet visits he needs in the future.
Thankyou ❤️
