It started as a whisper, a feeling of being drawn to North Dakota.  When we first heard about the Spirit Lake Ministry in Sheyenne, North Dakota, we knew that this is where we had been called to go in mission.  It was a lot of money to raise and it is so far away, but we had been called.  

We said yes and then the doors began opening.  We've done a number of fundraisers and are almost all the way there.  We are down to our last week and we only have just under $2000 to help cover some last minute expenses and to close the gap in our fundraising.  

Our hope is that you can support our efforts in the following way beginning with the most urgent need:
  1) Pray for our journey and for all those persons we will have the opportunity to serve.  
  2)  Share our request with friends and families.  Ask them to join us in prayer and to share in our journey.
  3)  We ask for your financial support as you are able and as you are called.  Any amount will help and we know that God will provide.

This is a 36 hour fundraiser that begins August 5th at Noon EST and will end August 6th at Midnight.  


What is the Spirit Lake Ministry?  
The Spirit Lake Ministry Center is dedicated to supporting the peoples of the Spirit Lake Nation and is an approved United Methodist Volunteer in Mission destination.   You can see more of the great work they are doing at SpiritLakeMinistryCenter.org. 



What will we be doing?
This is a dual blessings.  We will be working up on the roof for buildings and homes on the reservation.  We will be interacting with the children and Elders.  We will spend time together in worship and prayer as well as learn more about the community's culture and activity.   

Ultimately, we will be working and fellowshipping with members of our extended community.
