Mum With Terminal Cancer's Final Wish

Give Sharyn her dying wish, quality time with her loving husband and teenage daughters

 

Imagine you're going about your day, minding your own business, when someone sneaks up behind you.

 

You feel something press up against the back of your head, as someone whispers in your ear.

 

"Shh... don't turn around.

 

Just listen.

 

I am holding a gun against the back of your head. I'm going to keep it there. I'm going to follow you around like this every day, for the rest of your life."

 

"I'm going to press a bit harder, every so often, just to remind you I'm here, but you need to try your best to ignore me, to move on with your life. Act like I'm not here, but don't you ever forget... one day I may just pull the trigger... or maybe I won't. Isn't this going to be a fun game!

This is how Sharyn has felt for years. A feeling so many people with cancer have to endure daily.

 

Sharyn has been fighting cancer for almost a decade, her recent diagnosis is her 4th and sadly with stage 4 cancer now in her bones the prognosis is terminal.

 

Sharyn’s dying wish is to spend quality time with her teenage daughters and loving husband Adam to build memories they can cherish when she is gone.

 

Sharyn would have loved travel overseas but obviously that isn’t currently possible so I proposed organizing an all expenses paid trip to Cairns and Port Douglas filled with family days and relaxation for them all.

 

This sounds great right?

 

It is, and they'd love to do it themselves. But what many people don’t realise is that having cancer costs money, lots of money. With a combination of medical expenses and the fact that you are in many cases unable to work as well as your partner taking time off work, in some cases unpaid because you’re too sick to look after yourself money becomes a problem.

 

For this reason I am organizing this fund raiser. To give Sharyn and her family a chance to spend time together while they still can.

 

I figure if everyone in Sharyn and Adam's lives give a little we can make her dream of leaving Adam and the girls some lasting memories of her time on Earth.

 

The plan is for them to travel in October 2021. $9000 will get them there all expenses paid. Flights accommodation, car hire and a bunch of day trips.

 

100% of donations will go to Sharyn and her family for the holiday and the trip is fully covered by insurance in the event of a lockdown.
