As many of you will know my mum Karen battled until her last breathe fighting Stage 4 cancer she’s was tragically diagnosed with back in 2023. She fought for as long as possible but none of us could have ever known the power strength and determination mum has inside to battle like she did, she battled tirelessly and throughout those 18 months she kept a smile on her face and kept us positive and seeing what it takes to face adversity head on and never giving in, she showed me what it takes to battle even when all the odds are stacked against you, “never go around, always hit it head on, straight through” ❤️

I had no option to try and match her strength when thinking what I could do to show my love for her and what she achieved in her life but I agreed to take part in a full distance Ironman, not only an Ironman it’s Ironman Wales which on paper is the 4th hardest course to complete in the world. Still no where near matching mums strength but we’re going for it! 6am 21st September we get to work.

To be completed within a day with cut off times throughout, I have trained since January 1st, stopped drinking and smoking to be able to keep up with the training programme. One of the toughest training schedules I will likely stick to in my life but well worth being able to raise money for mums hospice, the work they do is second to none, 24/7 devoting there lives to making the unwell go off peacefully and also making the whole family and visitors feel supported and at ease the best we could be.
