On the morning of Saturday 29th April, my Mum and Dad's house burnt down. My mum was away but my dad was at home with their dog. My Dad is ok, still in Derby Hospital but will be fine, he is very traumatised especially as he couldn’t save their dog.

The fire was caused by a brand-new electric blanket donated to them by a charity to help with the cost of living and keeping warm (they are both in their 70’s).

They have lost everything as well as their home.

It transpires that in their naivety of ways to try to save money as the cost of living increased, they cancelled things they felt they could do without and this included their contents insurance.

At the moment we are looking to get them simple things like clothes until we can house them.

Any donation will be appreciated as we try to get them back on their feet.
