I'm a 29-year-old mom working full-time. I recently bought my dream off-grid cabin in Alaska, where healthcare is hard to come by and expensive. My plans were to start a small animal rescue for dogs no longer fit to work for sled teams.
In January, I was officially diagnosed with a treatment-resistant form of multiple sclerosis and had to take off a lot of time from work undergoing many different and terrible treatments to try to stop the lesions on my brain and spine from advancing. During this time, my cabin's water hauling system leaked and poured my water storage into my floors and foundation. When it rains, it quite literally pours. My dreams have stalled and my treatment's are going to be for the rest of my life, I feel like I’m drowning in my diagnosis.
