Multiple sclerosis oxygen therapy charity

I will be running the London Marathon 2024 for the Wolverhampton Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Therapy Centre where I used to volunteer. The centre provides lots of support and therapies (oxygen therapy, physio and more) for people with MS and other conditions/injuries effecting movement.

About our Centre:

The Wolverhampton MS Therapy Centre is a member of the Neuro Therapy Network (NTN) who offer guidance and support on how best to support our members. There are approximately 140,000 people living with Multiple Sclerosis and other life long neurological and physical conditions. At our Centre we also help people with other illnesses such as cancer, fibromyalgia, sports injuries and more recently long covid.

There are over 50 Centres across the UK each Centre is an individual charity with its own staff and volunteers. The Wolverhampton MS Therapy Centre is self-funding, and it relies heavily on donations from individuals and organisations, our own fundraising team of volunteers and our team of 3 paid members of staff to organise events and activities to keep the Centre in operation.

We are based in Tettenhall Wolverhampton, but we have members come from the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcester and more recently Wales. The Centre works on a self-referral basis. This means that you do not need to be referred by a healthcare professional to access therapies and services that we offer.

Our Support for wellbeing

Caring is as important as curing and although treatment for conditions such as Cancer and COPD have improved, in the 38 years the Centre has been here to support people no cure is yet in sight for Multiple Sclerosis.

Alongside us supporting members that require our therapies we are also here to support the families and their carers that find it difficult in coping with the diagnosis of MS and sometimes members with other conditions also need that extra bit of support for their wellbeing.

We also offer physiotherapy, reflexology and other holistic therapies to our members.
